Pathra Kadhi
Ingredients
- ½ cup garbanzo bean flour
- 2 cups plain yogurt, sour
- 7 cups water
- 1 teaspoon red chili powder
- 1 green chili, cut
- 1 medium onion
- 4 tablespoon oil or ghee
- 1 inch ginger, minced
- 7 pods garlic, minced
- ½ teaspoon turmeric powder
- ½ teaspoon fenugreek powder
- 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
- Pinch of asafetida
- Salt to taste
- 1 package pathra
- 2 tablespoons cilantro, minced
Directions
- In a bowl, mix garbanzo bean flour and yogurt until smooth.
- Add 5 cups of water and mix well so that there are no lumps.
- Mix red chili, turmeric and coriander powder.
- Heat a pan, add ghee, cumin seeds, asafetida. Let it splutter, then add green chili, onion, garlic, fenugreek and ginger. Stir for 1 minute.
- Transfer the prepared liquid to the pan. Stir continuously until the kadhi comes to a boil. Keep adding additional 3 cups of water as it boils.
- Add salt in the end.
- Prepare Pathra according to the package. Put it in the prepared kadhi.
- Decorate with cilantro.
