Ingredients

  • 24 oz guvar (cut and frozen)
  • 1 cup coconut shredded
  • ½ cup poppy seeds
  • 1 teaspoon mustard seeds
  • 9 green chilies
  • 1 bunch cilantro
  • ½ teaspoon asafetida
  • 6 teaspoons oil
  • Salt to taste
  • 6 curry leaves for garnish

Directions

  • Grind coconut, poppy seeds, green chilies and cilantro.
  • Heat oil in a pan, add mustard seeds, curry leaves and asafetida.
  • Let mustard seeds splutter and add the ground masala.
  • Let the raw smell of the masala go and add guvar.
  • Add salt, close the lid, keep stirring until the guvar is cooked.
  • Garnish with roasted curry leaves.
