Sweet potato chapatis

Ingredients

  • 1 medium sweet potato
  • 1 cup whole wheat flour
  • ½ tsp chilly
  • ½ tsp cumin powder
  • Salt for taste

Directions

  • Cook the sweet potato with skin on either in the microwave or in the pressure cooker and allow to cool.
  • Take a bowl, remove the skin and mash the sweet potato.
  • Add the wheat flour, cumin powder, chilli powder & salt.
  • Knead and mix all the ingredients together.
  • There is no need to add water or oil. Feel free to sprinkle some water if the dough is dry.
  • Allow the dough to rest for at least 10 minutes and divide into 8 round balls.
  • Using the rolling pin & flour to prevent sticking, roll each ball into a round chapati.
  • Cook on the griddle and brush a little oil on both sides and once, brown spots are seen on both sides, remove from griddle.
  • Enjoy with curry or raita.
